ALLEGORIA ( 2022 ) Ending Explained | Movie Spoilers

Today I am going to explain and recap a recently released horror anthology film called Allegoria. It consists of five different stories interlinked to one another. It is similar to the 2020 movie book of blood. I have recapped that film if you haven't seen it then please check it out after this. First please subscribe to my channel. It really helps. The movie opens with a famous quote from 19th-century painter Vincent van Gogh, the sadness will last forever. We see an old experienced acting professor Robert who was talking and practicing his dialogues. He used to run an acting class where getting admission in it was pretty tough.

Next, we see him in the acting class with only a handful of students. With intense passion and vigor Robert says, To become an actor you have to forget yourself, you have to bring the animalistic monstrous spirit to life. He asks a student named Brody to come on stage who seemed very nervous. He asks her to imagine and express herself as if she got possessed by the souls of rapists and killers. Brody was not getting it hence he shows her his expression which was intense and aggressive. It was so aggressive that he started bleeding from the nose. The remaining students clapped at this superb performance. Robert again provokes Brody to express herself. With this provocation we see Brody turning into a real monster, a demon had possessed her who scares the shitt out of Robert. Brody in her possession breaks Robert's hand. With this, the first story ends.

In the second story, we see a painter named Marcus who was working on scary modern art. Marcus was tensed and frustrated as the deadline for this project was today. His agent Benny was calling and reminding him about this which clearly irritated him.  He had saved his name as a greedy pig on mobile. Benny demands the painting to be big as the client wanted it like that. Marcus works on it for hours, he was not satisfied and hit a painter's block. Just then Brody calls Marcus here as she was sort of his girlfriend. Marcus talks rudely as he was having a difficult day. Brody was excited and happy as she got selected for Robert's acting class. Marcus dismisses it as nothing great, as per him acting was not true art. He blames Brody for being greedy as he believed she was just interested in money and in being famous. Brody felt offended hence she cancels the call. Next Marcus stood in front of a mirror and started repeating a famous quote from Pablo Picasso. Others have seen what is and asked why, I have seen what could be and asked why not. This was his mantra to get back at his true self. After repeating it a few times suddenly Marcus felt an intense pain in his stomach which made him fall. Next, we see him on a sofa in a shocked state where another Marcus was standing in front of him. Besides that Marcus, there was a demon in black with a face completely burnt. This demon slices that Marcu's throat. Original Marcus closes his eyes in a panic to check whether he is hallucinating or not. Strangely the painting was complete, the demon and the other Marcus disappeared. Marcus calls Banny to pick up the painting. In the painting, we see scared Marcus himself with his throat sliced by a demonic hand. The demon was now beside Marcus where both of them were staring at each other. In the final scene, we see the demon with a paintbrush.  With this second story ends.

In the third story, we see a writer Eddy Park. Eddy was writing the climax scene of his film where we can see Marcus's painting behind him. In the story, he was writing about a couple Steve and Janice who were running scared of a serial killer called whistler. Steve hides Janice in a cupboard and he himself hides under a bed. The Whistler barges in here with his trademark whistle and starts searching. Steve sneakily attacks him at his feet due to which the Whistler screams. Taking the queue from this Janice snatched the knife and killed the killer. Eddy was pleased with this happy ending story hence he gave a little pat on his back.  Suddenly he heard someone grouting behind him, to his surprise this was the whistler from his story. He shouts the words trash, garbage, and disgrace to Eddy, clearly, he was not happy with the ending. Eddy was scared seeing this, he tries to justify his story by saying whistling is a trademark of the killer. A whistle will always kill you will be the tag line. The whistler disagrees and suggests some changes. He says before steve could attack me, I will grab his head and smash it on a wall. He smashes Eddy's head to show him how it's done. Then he breaks his hand. The whistler then remembered about Janice, he brought her from the cupboard and stabbed her. Both Eddy and his girlfriend were dead. The Whistler was happy as he says in the next sequel we will write something more dramatic. With this third story ends.

In the fourth story, we see a dating couple named John and Ivy. They return to John's house after the first date. Ivy observes the cleanliness here as it seemed John was germophobic. These two have arrived from a theatre where they saw the same movie which Eddy wrote in story three. The whistler killer one. Ivy didn't like this film, as per her this film was lame. John says his childhood dream was to be a rockstar. Now as he looks back it was pretty lame.  Ivy was a sculptor, she shows him a few of her works that included human heads in weird ways. John was scared a little as all of them looked pretty realistic. She had sculpted only the head as she believed art is subjective. John was confused as to how could this be called art. To make him understand Ivy asks him what he feels when he sees her. John just says you are beautiful. Noe Ivy places a knife on her throat which scares the shitt out of him. He begs her to stop it. Ivy explains this as art. First, when John saw her he thought of her as a beautiful lady.  Once she had a knife on her he was overwhelmed by fear, art is not what you see but what you feel. Ivy says sorry here as clearly John was scared. John tried to kiss her but Ivy refused it, she started leaving as she felt its late. She walks up to her car and then returns. John opens the door and says you are back. Ivy smiles at him and hits him with a hammer. In the last scene, we see John's body on a cross where Ivy had sculpted him like a rockstar. She takes a few photos with a creepy smile. With this, the fourth story ends.

In the fifth story, we see a clip of a movie in which two ladies were running from a killer called big baby. one of them was a babysitter of this killer fifteen years ago. The big baby kills the other here and starts chasing the babysitter lady. Hope and Brody were watching this C-grade horror film which was actually lame as well as funny. In the film, a big baby was making weird sounds while killing his victims. Brody laughed out loud as the plot was like this. The big baby was angry because the babysitter lady left him to hook up with her boyfriend when he was little. This can't be a motive to kill someone. Hope justified it by saying its a childhood. Just then Brody received a mail saying she got selected for Robert's acting class. Hope congratulates her on this success. She felt frustrated when she heard Brody talking about informing this news to Marcus, as Marcus always mistreated Brody. Brody disagreed as she believed she is good for him. She also says Marcus's last girlfriend was a psycho who used to kill people and make realistic sculptures out of them. Brody was talking about Ivy who was Marcus's ex. Brody calls Marcus and we see the same scene again from Brody's point of view. Naturally, Brody was upset after the call and Hope says I told you so.  Next Hope leaves for her band practice. In her band, there were a total of four guys, the lead guitarist here was very passionate about a tune that he believed if played correctly can manifest evil. Accept Hope the rest dismissed it as a joke, she learns that tune from him. When she arrived back home she found Brody sitting in the dark which spooked her a little. Brody says Marcus is not picking up my phone, something must have gone wrong. Hope knowing this shady Marcus guy dismissed her worry and told her to get some sleep as tomorrow she had class.

Later she started playing the tune Marcus taught her. As hope was playing it we see Broddy getting possessed. Her eyes turn white, she starts levitating, and finally, some evil force took hold of her. Hope thought of this as a silly little tune, as she turned to walk away we see a demon behind her. Just then she heard some noise from Brody's room. Upon checking it Brody was all right but was behaving weirdly. She says she will not hear from Marcus now as something is definitely wrong with him. She also believed she will excel in her class tomorrow and here shows her a monologue with a creepy smile. Hope was scared by all this, as she sat on a sofa to think what to do she heard the same tune again coming from the piano. Someone or something was playing that. With this, the film ends. The horror in this film is at a metaphorical level that shows us the dangers of obsession in an artist. Ivy was so obsessed with her art that she was killing people. Marcus was always unsatisfied with his peace which made him anxious and angry. A writer obsessed with money justifies his crap writing. Hope was hoping a hope with a new tune which turned out to be a hopeless one. Overall this film shows us the inner struggles of an artist from a horror point of view.
