Today I am going to recap and explain episode two of She-Hulk. Episode two starts where the last episode ended which is in the court scene where she saved a few jury members from Titania. She-Hulk was in the news as all media networks were covering her. On one network an attorney from Titania says her rude behavior was due to low sugar levels perhaps a reference to the Kardashian's crash diet. Here Titania was a celebrity superhuman and had a lot of fan following. On another network, one Jury member coins the term she hulk to Jenny. Jenny was not ready for all the sudden fame, she believed being a superhero is a curse as superheroes don't get sick leave, don't get money, don't have a social life and they will mostly be alone. She knew the life of her cousin Bruce as well as Captain America, who was pretty much alone all their life.
Lawyers at her lawyer's club cheer her as for the first time a lawyer was chosen as a superhero. Till now only soldiers, doctors, or geeky guys were superheroes, for the first time a normal human being like Jenny was chosen as a superhuman. Jenny's colleague Dennis disagreed here, he says there is nothing great about you as you are a product of nepotism. Clearly, he was jealous. Just then Jenny's Boss arrived here and he wanted to talk with her. Jenny converts from her Hulk form to human form and suddenly she felt dizzy. As the metabolism of the two forms was different so was the effect of alcohol. Her boss expresses his appreciation towards her for saving the life of those members but there was a catch. since she saved them they were biased towards her, the opposing party had requested a mistrial and the judge had granted that. Due to this Jenny can no longer plea this case. Henceforth if she plea any case there was a chance of the jury being biased. So with great regret, the boss fires her. Jenny was taken aback as clearly what she did was noble yet she paid the price for it. she too is now facing isolation.
For the next few days, Jenny tries her luck at different law firms but no one hired her. Everyone states the same reason. During all this time Nikki supports Jenny. Jenny was finding a job online where we see some easter eggs. One is the reference to a wolverine and another one is a giant statue in the ocean from Eternals. Just then Jenny got a message from her dad inviting her for the family dinner. Jenny was not in the mood to go there, she asked Nikki to come along. Nikki had a date that night so she refused.
Jenny's family was kind of supportive as well as irritating. Her brother and mom bombarded her with superhero questions which clearly irritated her. After dinner, Jenny's dad took her to a store room and started talking to her. He motivates her, encourages her, and supports her. Genie lets out her emotions and frustrations, clearly, she was unhappy with all these development. she thought if she had not saved those people then her life would have been better. Her dad uploads her for shaving those people as it was the right thing to do. He calms her down by saying everything will work out.
Jenny was now at her lawyer's bar sobbing at her life. Opposing counselor Mr. Holliway approached her, he had a vacant position in his firm that he wanted to offer to Jenny. Jenny without thinking twice accepted this as clearly she had no other option. Mr. Holliway also agreed to Nikki as a paralegal. Jenny joins this new firm on Monday. Mr. Holliway says we have started a new division here which deals exclusively with superhuman criminals and their aftermath. I believe She-Hulk will be the perfect symbol for this as Jury will see you as a law-abiding superhuman. An ideal for others to follow. Holliway asked Jenny to be in her She-Hulk form while she was working here. Meaning she got this job because she was She-Hulk not because she was a good lawyer. She-Hulk was a good PR for this law firm which they could exploit.
Jenny was a little bit uncomfortable here in her She-Hulk form as everybody started staring at her. One old guy had a collection of comics in his office which is a tribute to all Marvel comics.
She Hulk got a corner office which was huge Nikki liked it and was very happy. Here another guy called pug welcomed these two with a welcome basket. He was also on this superhuman division. The first case Jenny got was a bro Bono case of Mr. Emil Blonsky a k a, abomination who was in jail for many years. The government wanted to release him on a good conduct basis. Many people opposed this as they believed he is still a monster and a threat to humanity. These were no ordinary criminals these were enhanced individuals who could easily destroy a city at their will.
This was a sensitive issue. Jenny cites the conflict of interest case here as Abomination and Bruce had enmity. Bruce helped the authorities to put him behind bars. Mr.Holliway says conflict of interest is no issue as Emil knows your situation and is ready to hire you as his lawyer. If you want to work here then you have to take this case. She-Hulk decides to first meet this guy. Emil was kept in a top-secret jail. The security guard here stops She-Hulk as entering the jail with enhanced abilities is prohibited. Later they explain all safety precautions to her as they were not bound by law to protect her in case something happens to her. They collected the information of next of kin from her as they were not sure whether she will come back alive. Meaning this guy was clearly the most dangerous man in the world and they were not taking it lightly.
Emil greats Jenny with namaste. By the look of him, it seemed he was a transformed man. He pleads his case like Morgan Freeman in Shawshank Redemption. He says I am a changed man. I control abomination, I have chosen to let him go. Now in my old age, I want to live a normal peaceful life like others. I never had any personal enmity with your brother Hulk. I was ordered by your government to kill him. They injected me with super soldier serum which caused side effects. I was a decorated marine before that. Your government brainwashed me into joining that program. When it failed they locked me up as a criminal. They gave a chance to Hulk, he is now a hero who saved billions while I am rusting here. Jenni seemed to agree with him as when she turned into hulk there was Bruce to guide her. Emil had no one, his training as a marine made him less empathetic which was a factor in Abomination's behavior.
At night Jenni dials Bruce to take his opinion on this. Bruce kind of agreed as he was also a changed man. He had no grudge against Emil, on the contrary, Emil wrote him a letter a few months back apologizing for all his actions. When Jenni asked Bruce where he is, he ditched the question. As he was in space traveling in that Sacarian ship. Whether it is by choice or by force is not sure. Jenni informs Mr. Holliway that she will take the case. After this, news breaks on all major news networks. Emil as Abomination was taking part in an underground fight club with sorcerous. With this episode two ends.
